2013 Financial Report

2013 was a very exciting year for the OGB! We launched a new website and saw our fan engagement and numbers sky rocket on Facebook (total likes doubled). We implemented a formal leadership structure as well as a formal banking organization. This has allowed us to carefully track how successful we are at each event along with exactly how much money we are donating. We are also tracking the success of different fund-raising initiatives to see what is most engaging and well liked.

We felt we had a fantastic year for fundraising. 71% of all money raised was directly donated to three major recipients - Street Cats, McMaster Children’s Hospital and Sick Kids Toronto. We still have 8% in reserve and 21% was spent on expenses. This year was a year of many transitions which resulted in a slightly higher percentage of our money being spent on administration and supplies. Our major expenses included a new Vigo banner, new business cards, web hosting, magnet and button production and jump suits for rookie photos. Almost all of these expenses were one time fees or will not re-occur for another year or two so 2014 should see a very steep decline on money spent on administration and supplies.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who stopped by our booth, liked a Facebook post or bought a little something. We are here to support and encourage Ghostbuster fans like you but we would be nowhere without your support and encouragement! Thanks for another fantastic year!
